Located in the city of Abu Dhabi, the royal capital of the United Arab Emirates, this mosque is named after the big figure behind the idea of its construction: Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Sheikh Zayed Mosque is one of the legacies of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the father of the nation of the United Arab Emirates. Being the third largest mosque in the world - after the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Principled in "Unite The World", this mosque is the fruit of the creations of artists from various countries, such as "Italy, Germany, Morocco, India, Turkey, Iran, China, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Greece, and of course from the United Arab Emirates itself. All the materials used in the construction of this mosque were imported from almost all corners of the world. One of them is the carpet, which covers the entire floor of the mosque which has an area of more than 5,600 square meters. This carpet is imported directly from Iran, done by around 1,500 craftsmen from Iran using 12 Tons of cotton and 35 Tons of wool yarn. Not only carpets, but 7 chandeliers in this mosque are also specially made. The gold color is custom-made in Germany, with Swarovski Crystals from Austria and glass from Italy. The lamp weighing around 2 tons in the mosque building is recorded as the largest chandelier in the world. As one of the largest mosques in the world, this mosque has thousands of marble pillars. More than 1,000 pillars are patterned with beautiful flowers. The mosque, which has predominantly white residents with 82 typical Ottoman domes, is open to the public, for all religious adherents around the world. Especially for women, to enter the mosque area must wear an abaya.
The size of the mosque is 22,412 square meters, equivalent to five football fields, and can accommodate 40,960 worshipers at once. The architecture of the mosque which uses white marble as a material keeps the mosque cool even without air conditioning. A series of pools covering an area of 7,874 square meters with dark ceramic floors around the mosque building further beautify this area.
